Get Salesforce Sandbox to Learn

Salesforce provides a free developer edition sign up for the learners.

In this blog, i will show you steps to create account in Salesforce org to get a free sandbox. You can use this environment to learn and practice Salesforce technology.

Steps to Sign Up for Salesforce Developer Edition

  1. Visit the sign-up page using the URL https://developer.salesforce.com/signup.
  2. A registration page will be opened.
  3. Fill the form with the appropriate information (Please note that all fields are mandatory to fill).
    • First Name – Enter your official first name.
    • Last Name – Enter your official last name.
    • Email –
      • IT professionals: Use your official email.
      • Others: Use a personal email.
    • Role – Choose any role based on your current profile.
      • Developer – If you are involved in the development work.
      • Architect/CTO – If you are involved in the solution designing, solution consultation etc.
      • Administrator – It is a Salesforce specific role. It mainly includes Org settings or configurations but not related to coding.
      • IT Manager/Executive – if you are involved in the company’s IT operations including technology infrastructure, software, hardware etc.
      • Business Manager/Executive – If you are involved in project management, customer interaction, team training, market research etc. 
    • Company – Enter your company name or institute name if you’re a student. (It is expected that some relevant information should be entered in the company field).
    • Country/Region – Select your country.
    • Postal Code – Enter your postal code.
    • Username – This field has two requirements:
      • It must be in email format.
      • It must be unique across in Salesforce database.
  4. Check the checkbox to accept the Salesforce Program Agreement.
  5. Click on ‘Sign me Up’.
  6. Verify your email Id.
  7. Check your email for a message from developer@salesforce.com with subject “Welcome to Salesforce: Verify your account”.
  8. Click on “Verify Account”. 
  9. Reset the Password:
    • A new window will open for you to set a password.
    • Enter a strong password and confirm it.
    • Select a security question and provide an answer. 
  10. After clicking “Change Password”, you will be directed to the Salesforce Org home page.
